*BIG NEWS*
I’m recording my first ever LIVE album featuring a full big band! Tony Guerrero will once again be at the helm and he’s bringing a bunch of his friends… that’s literally the name of his big band: Tony Guerrero’s Bunch of My Friends Big Band!! We have curated a 10 song set list, including several brand new arrangements!
AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
This project consists of 3 parts:
PERFORMANCE: We have scheduled TWO live shows at Campus JAX in Newport Beach… Tuesday Feb. 9th and Wednesday Feb. 10th. Tickets are available HERE. There will also be a VIP ticket option which will enable you to attend our rehearsal on Monday, February. 8th!*
RECORDING: As this is a traditional LIVE record, we will be recording in real time. A big band means 18 musicians (myself and Tony included) on stage! It’s a pretty cumbersome and challenging endeavor and it’s a lot of mouths to feed… figuratively and literally! The live shows will cover very little of our extensive recording costs. There are obviously 18 musicians to pay in addition to our recording engineer, Golden Dawn Preciado.
PRODUCTION: post production will include editing, mixing and mastering AND…. VINYL!!! We are SO excited to be printing actual albums for this project! It will of course also be available digitally, but making A RECORD seems like the right thing to do given the history of this genre.
Our budget for this project is $25,000
I know that YOU know the value of LIVE music these days! Artists are struggling to record and travel and create and make a living making music given the way streaming has drastically infiltrated the music world. We rely on fans and listeners and lovers of the arts to buy tickets to shows and merch on our websites so that we can keep making music for you to weave into your memories and everyday lives! The best ways you can support this exciting new work are:
Thank you SO MUCH in advance!! I can’t wait to see your smiling faces in the audience Feb. 9th and 10th!!!
